Futures Trading levels and Economic reports for April 20th

Greetings!

A little different format for our daily newsletter. If you wish to remove yourself from getting daily updates such as this one, please scroll to the end of the message and click on "safe unsubscribe" where you will be able to choose which updates (if any) you would like to get from us.

Market rallied on option expiration day, tested the much talked about 873 level (almost..) and backed up a bit. Whats next? We may see a pull back early next week but technicals are pointing a bit higher still on the daily chart.

Futures Trading levels and Economic reports for April 15th

Dear Trader,

Market gave up some gains and bounced slightly off the 50% retracement from the 810-861 move, right around 836.

LOTS of economic numbers tomorrow (in addition to the ongoing earnings reports) and that will determine if we will seee 830-820-810 levels or if the rally from last week will resume and 861 will be taken out .

My guess (and it is really a pure speculation on my part) is that selling pressure will prevail for the next couple of days, i.e. lower prices.

Futures Trading levels and Economic reports for Apr 14th

*To be removed, please reply with remove daytrading in subject line

Dear Trader,

Market opened lower, tested support at 842 and never looked back.

If the action we had on both Thursday and today was done during "normal trading days" and not during what I call "Holiday Mode", I would say that it is quite bullish. However, because the rally took place during the day before and after Easter on light volume, I will need to see some proof coming up the rest of this week when more volume comes back into the market.

Some important economic reports are due the rest of the week along with option expiration day on Friday.

Some levels to watch for are: 861, 873 on the way up. 848, 839 and 823 on the way down.

Good Trading!

Futures Trading levels and Economic reports for April 7th

*To be removed, please reply with remove daytrading in subject line

Dear Trader,

Market gapped lower after a bullish close Friday. Tested the 818.50 support/ 38.2% retracement level and then bounced pretty good from there.

I will look at Fridays high of 842 as an area that if we can close above on an hourly chart, may signal another leg up.

On the other hand, a break below 818 will push prices toward 807-810 and will close the GAP we have from April 1st, which is also a 50% retracement level....what does it all mean? sometimes nothing, just some levels to have in mind from the slighly bigger time frame that you can apply as you are daytrading...

See hourly chart below and good trading!

Dear Trader,

Bad job numbers, market barely sold off, then bounced to close at the highs. Some would call this a short term bullish indicator, which may indeed be the case if we can trade and hold above 844.

Have a great weekend.

Futures Trading levels and Economic reports for April 2nd

*To be removed, please reply with remove daytrading in subject line

Dear Trader,

April started out with a nice rally after a gap open lower. Market has been trading in a range the last few days between 775 to 830 and it is still in consolidation mode after the rally we had from lows of March 6th to highs of March 26th. Markets will usually expand, and then consolidate and then the key question is the direction of the next expansion.....

Have a great trading month in April!
