Dear Futures Trader,

An exercise in Fibonacci extensions….

As the NQ started moving lower today ( I actually prefer the MNQ as it causes less stomach ache when moves against me….), I was looking for a target profit on a short position a client of mine had.
I draw FIB extension for yesterday sell off move and applied it to the high on the bounce made early this morning….Today it turned out out to be an excellent tool (click for LARGER IMAGE)….gave me targets, possible trailing stops, possible re-entry and more ( always easier looking back after the fact)….Of course there are many times where this will NOT work but you may want to take a look at Fibonacci extensions as another tool in your arsenal and just Fibonacci retracement….

Voted #1 Blog and #1 Brokerage Services on TraderPlanet for 2016!!

Earning season is in full affect. Most earnings report after close usually.

In between NASDAQ made a new high, again….and stock index futures are some what back to lower volatility, summer type of trading.

On the other hand Crude Oil, gold, grains and few other markets are experiencing good ranges and above average volatility.

My opinion is that if you are a day trader primarily, you need to follow minimum of 2 markets, I like following 3 markets.

Certain days, different markets will offer different opportunities as well as risks. Some days one of the markets might be “dead” while others are moving and according to your preferred style and market environment you like, you can focus on those markets.
