The past few weeks of volatility in the equity and bond markets have been absent of major players from previous market volatility.<\/div>\n
Major banks, National banks (other than certain limited-purpose trust banks), federal savings associations, and federal branches and agencies of foreign banks (collectively, banks) are required to fully conform their activities and investments to the requirements of the final regulations by the end of the conformance period, which the FRB has extended to July 21, 2015 (please see footnote below)<\/div>\n

SUMMARY:\u00a0<\/strong>The OCC, Board, FDIC, and\u00a0SEC (individually, an ”Agency,” and\u00a0collectively, ”the Agencies”) are\u00a0adopting a rule that would implement\u00a0section 13 of the BHC Act, which was\u00a0added by section 619 of the Dodd-Frank\u00a0Wall Street Reform and Consumer\u00a0Protection Act (”Dodd-Frank Act”).\u00a0Section 13 contains certain prohibitions\u00a0and restrictions on the ability of a\u00a0banking entity and non-bank financial\u00a0company supervised by the Board to\u00a0engage in proprietary trading and have\u00a0certain interests in, or relationships\u00a0with, a hedge fund or private equity\u00a0fund.<\/div>\n
