Rollover day for stock index futures is this Thursday.<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For those of you trading\u00a0any stock index futures contracts<\/strong>\u00a0(E-mini S&P<\/strong>,\u00a0E-mini NASDAQ<\/strong>,\u00a0E-mini Dow Jones<\/strong>, the “Big<\/strong>”\u00a0pit-traded<\/strong>\u00a0S&P 500<\/strong>,\u00a0etc<\/strong>.) it is extremely important to remember that\u00a0this Thursday<\/strong>,\u00a0March 7<\/strong>,\u00a0is rollover day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Starting\u00a0Thursday<\/strong>,\u00a0March 7<\/strong>, the\u00a0June 2013<\/strong>\u00a0futures contracts will be the front month contracts. \u00a0Please note that the month symbol for June is M<\/strong>; so for example the mini S&P contract symbol would be ESM3. \u00a0It is recommended that\u00a0all new positions be placed in the June 2013 contracts as of this Thursday<\/strong>. \u00a0Volume in the March ’13 contracts will begin to drop off until its expiration on Friday March 15th.<\/p>\n

An additional note to pit traders<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Please be aware of liquidity issues in the March ’13\u00a0pit-traded contracts<\/em>. \u00a0Expect sharply decreased liquidity beginning Thursday morning.\u00a0 Carefully consider whether you wish to place Market or Stop orders in these contracts after that time as the executing brokers in the March ’13 contracts of the\u00a0“Big” \/ pit-traded indexes will not be “held” on ANY order and they will not take Cancel and Replace orders at all beginning\u00a0Friday March 8th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n
