Heads up Regarding approaching first notice ( FN) and Last Trading days (LT)
Since there are so many of the September futures contracts traded across so many different commodities.
Here are dates you need to be aware of so you don’t run into delivery hassles.
Cash settled or financially settled products do not have a first notice day since there is no delivery.
For the Deliverable futures contracts, please pay attention to the following Dates for September contracts.
You must be out or rolled into the next contract before First notice day. Unless you are a bonaFide Hedger.
Please use Monday, August 28th
through Wednesday the 30th to adjust your positions.
Pay attention to the volume shifts between the Spot month contracts and back months as a key, particularly in the Bonds and Notes.
August 31st. First notice Day of Delivery:
2yr,5yr,10yr notes, 30yr Bonds,
High Grade Copper, Comex Gold, Comex Silver
Nymex Platinum, Nymex Palladium
Corn, Chi, Kc and Minn wheat, EuroBobl, Eurobund, Euro Schatz, Oats , Rice, Soybeans, Soyoil and Soymeal
For September Currencies, Last trading day is not until the 18th or the 19th of the contract month with roll being around Wednesday the 13th, again watch your volume between the current and the back months
And for the Stock Indices
ES,RTY,EMD,NQ,YM and TF and all sector funds – we will send a separate rollover notice next week.
