December Dollar Index

In the September 18th CJ OTD we alerted readers that the US dollar index had broken out above key resistance which created a powerful “W” bottom formation and activated upside PriceCount objectives. Less than one month later, the chart has satisfied its third upside count where it is normal to get a near term reaction in the form of a consolidation or corrective trade, at least. If the chart can resume its rally with a new sustained leg higher, we are left with the low percentage fourth count to aim for in the 107.44 area, 5.5% above its current value.

The PriceCount study is a tool that can help to project the distance of a move in price. The counts are not intended to be an ‘exact’ science but rather offer a target area for the four objectives which are based off the first leg of a move with each subsequent count having a smaller percentage of being achieved.
