Grain Futures

Wheat

Grain markets were among the strongest performers in today’s commodity trade, led by an impressive rally in wheat, which surged more than 6% and pushed to fresh 30-day highs as supply concerns and technical momentum attracted buying interest.

Corn

Corn futures gained over 2%, supported by improving global demand signals, including Taiwan’s tender for up to 65,000 metric tons of feed corn and a notable increase in EU corn imports, which have risen to 2.57 million metric tons so far in the 2026/27 marketing year compared to 1.79 million metric tons at the same point last year.

Soybean

Soybeans also participated in the advance, climbing nearly 2% as the broader grain complex benefited from stronger export prospects and fund buying.

Grains

With wheat, corn, and soybeans all trading near or above recent monthly highs, traders will closely monitor upcoming U.S. economic data and developments from the Jackson Hole Symposium for potential impacts on the U.S. dollar and export competitiveness. For now, the grain sector continues to enjoy a bullish tone, supported by improving demand indicators and growing confidence that global buyers remain active despite elevated prices.

December Wheat

December Wheat resumed its rally into a new contract high. This has the chart taking aim at its third upside PriceCount objective to the $7.67 area. The low percentage fourth count to $9.49 is not shown here for presentation purposes.

The PriceCount study is a tool that can help to project the distance of a move in price. The counts are not intended to be an ‘exact’ science but rather offer a target area for the four objectives which are based off the first leg of a move with each subsequent count having a smaller percentage of being achieved.

It is normal for the chart to react by correcting or consolidating at an objective and then either resuming its move or reversing trend. Best utilized in conjunction with other technical tools, PriceCounts offer one more way to analyze charts and help to manage your positions and risk.
