March started out with strong down move, perhaps to signal the shift in market bias going forward?

Time will tell.

Hourly chart of Mini Russell 2000 for your review below. We need to see the TF goes above 809.50 for any significant bounce to follows, otherwise we may visit 793 first….

Either way, higher volatility, wider ranges = trader must asses their daily risk settings, their stops/ targets per trade, trading size etc.

Weekly chart of mini Dow Jones futures for your review below. While most of you are shorter term traders, even considered futures day-traders, it is wise to know what the longer time frame charts are showing as well.

In the case of the weekly chart below, we will need to see a break below 119.50 in order to get a weekly sell signal according to my technical opinion.

Futures Trading Levels and Economic Reports for January 14, 2010

Stock futures indices are “boring”..slow movement, lack of “fear” and just gradual, slow move up.

On the other hand we have markets like Euro, Crude, grains etc. that have large intraday ranges, volatility and speed. Factors i think day-traders are looking for.

Recent Rally of Futures Trading Causes Short Term Sell Off, November 19th, 2010

As we asked many times before….is this bounce just a correction from the short term sell off we had over the last few days OR was the sell off of the last few days just a correction from the recent rally of last few weeks???

I wish I could tell you, but what I can share is that in situation like this one, it is wise to wait for market reaction, price behavior around key areas of support and resistance and perhaps look at a few time frames, i.e. look at 15 minute chart, an hourly chart and a daily chart…

Futures Trading Levels and Economic Reports for November 16th, 2010

The market feels to me as if it is either ready to pick up some more momentum to the downside or that this small correction ran its course and the trend up will resume….

I am looking at the following levels and price behavior around these levels to give me more clues as to which way the next move will be.

1206 on the way up (Dec. Mini SP 500) and 1189 on the way down.
