The U.S. dollar index is a basket of six major world currencies stacked up against the U.S. dollar and rolled into an index. See on the daily bar chart for the USDX that prices are in a choppy uptrend and this week hit a six-week high. The greenback bulls have gained technical power this week, to suggest prices can continue to trend sideways to higher in the near term. Some added uncertainty in the world market place during this hitorically markets-turbulent month of October is also prompting some safe-haven demand for the U.S. dollar. Stay tuned!
